The Fishing Community
The Fishing Community
Active fishing towns are found all along the coast of California, Oregon and Washington. Stop at the dock in any of these towns and you might catch fishermen bringing their boats in to the seafood buyer to unload their catch. You might also find a few marine researchers studying the fish, water and weather.

These Oregon fishing towns dot the map, from Astoria on the north border all the way down to Brookings on the south. Residents from each of these towns are invested in Pacific Fish Trax. They all have an interest in working hard to preserve the economic livelihoods of the local fishermen and the fishing grounds on which they depend. And it isn’t just the fishermen and their families taking action. It is local marine scientists, seafood processors, oceanographers, neighbors, store owners, and political leaders.
